We install deadhung pipe
grids for stages and studios of all shapes and sizes.
Although pipe grids vary with every project, a basic
pipe grid is usually comprised of #40 1-1/2"
steel pipe battens in two levels. The upper level
is usually suspended from building structure, the
lower level is attached to the upper pipe battens
with intersection brackets. Though the spacing of
the battens can be adjusted to your needs, a good,
versatile average is 4' x 4'.
The grid can be secured to the walls with wall flanges
to prevent lateral movement . The number and location
of wall flanges depends on the overall size of your
grid, but we recommend securing each corner with at
least one flange, alternating upper and lower battens.
